Note: before inserting buttons into the patient's mouth for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes, they should be threaded. In the event that instability or lack of cooperation hinder effective exercise, buttons should be replaced with other speech therapy aids that are safer, such as ARK Button Spatulas, Z-vibe Button tips or SENSI Button tips.

Talk Tools recommends that when using buttons in therapy, their diameter should be gradually reduced.
