REREK speech therapy vibrator - set with the Z-vibe spoon-head
Specialists from ARK Therapeutic prepared the first REREK sets with paddles for PJtherapeutic in the spring of 2007, after a personal consultation in the USA. Originally REREK was called POLISH KIT (Polish kit) and then SQUIGGLE WIGGLE spoon kit. We introduced the name SQ pen REREK 2 years later, and shortly after we removed the English part of the name.
Currently, REREK is the most famous product for (vibrating) rhotacism therapy in the world.
APPLICATION: The SQ pen REREK speech therapy vibrator is a product especially recommended for rhotacism therapy.
TECHNICAL DATA: Amplitude 0.6 cm, powered by a 1.5 Volt battery. It is an effective source of mechanical resonance, thanks to which you can cause passive vibrations of the tongue and shape the R sound.
COLOR VERSIONS: transparent - green, pink, purple and blue.
INCLUDED: speech therapy vibrator and spoon tip.
The battery is not included.
THE R VOICE IS DEVELOPED / FORMED by screwing the selected blade onto the tip of the vibrator. Do not screw in too deeply as this may damage the thread.
Tips for invoking the R sound in the set: Z-vibe HARD SPOON
OTHER TIPS that will be useful in therapy (not included in the set):
Z-vibe SOFT OR HARD SPOON - TEXTURED
Z-vibe TONGUE DEPRESSORS TIPS
Z-vibe TONGUE - comfortable for wider tongues or oral cavities, for adult patients;
Z-vibe FLAT SPOON
VIBRATION PROCEDURE:
1) invoking the r sound should be preceded by a professional diagnosis of the anatomical and functional state of the tongue and oral sensitivity;
2) before use, make sure that the tip is screwed to the thread seal;
3) instruct the Patient about the place of articulation - the tongue placed with the tip towards the upper teeth;
4) place the selected tip/head under the tongue in the midline;
5) turn on the vibrator after making sure that the tongue is properly vertical and will hit the hard palate (it is recommended to pronounce the alveolar sound);
6) after each use - wash (in the case of individual use) or disinfect the tip or vibrator where the Patient may have had bodily contact with it, remove visible impurities before disinfection;
7) do not vibrate continuously for more than one or two minutes;
8) during sublingual vibration, every now and then: 20 - 30 seconds, pull back the tip blade and observe the behavior of the tongue;
9) after the Patient notices the spontaneous extension of vibrations, use less frequent vibrations or turn off the vibrator;
10) do not let the child's phonic activity be inactive while causing vibrations or let the tongue stay on the spoon blade.
RECOMMENDED: fading cue procedure!
