MUPPY - for prophylaxis - early-orthodontic treatment

Even if there is still no well-developed malposition, the damaging sucking habit can be ended with the help of MUPPY. MUPPY is offered to children as substitute, which they voluntarily accept and wear because it is not forced on them. The easy MUPPY standard also helps with faulty (infantile) swallowing. Tongue habits such as lip biting and sucking serve to switch from mouth to nasal breathing.

ORAL SCREEN STANDARD SOFT II -for the mixed dentition.

This oral screen prevents malocclusion as well as contributes to the self-healing process of existing deformations, strengthens the oral musculature, trains the patient to position the tongue correctly, and therefore, is used in dyslalia therapy.

MUPPY- rules

Studies have shown that more than 90 % of children give up damaging sucking habits with the help of MUPPY . Your support and a few rules help your child: 1 MUPPY is a substitute for for a thumb or a dummy The substitution must be voluntary. 2 MUPPY must always be worn at night. 3 To get used to it easier children should also wear MUPPY a few hours during the day (when playing or watching television). 4 As a rule, weaning is successful within a week. However, MUPPY should also be worn for 6–8 weeks after successful weaning of the dummy (“recidivism”). 5 MUPPY can be stored in the hygiene box. 6 Do not forget to regularly brush the teeth and MUPPY!

How is MUPPY worn? MUPPY is worn similarly to a common weaning dummy, lying loosely behind the lips and in front of the teeth, in the so-called oral vestibule. It is held automatically in place by the lip muscles. If your child is having speech therapy treatment, you should take note of the following: • Follow your speech therapist’s individual wearing and exercise instructions exactly. • Support your child during this stage, as he/she has to feel the importance of mouth closure in order to take the exercises seriously. • Make your child aware of the “rules of play” and supervise the necessary exercises.

The kit includes a hygienic appliance storage box.

Note: The individual oral screens should be used for each patient.
