USE: In order to properly use the speech therapy aids (TARGET - the R language) included in the kit, it is necessary to specify in the diagnosis procedure, among others: a. Patient's developmental moment;
b.possible nature of the disorder, e.g. structural defects - short frenulum, arched palate, short tongue
c. degree of sensitivity; d. development of those motor functions that may affect the effectiveness of the selected tools, e.g. perianal tension, mandible strength and symmetry;
e. language elevation range.
The PROCEDURE is an individual matter, we can only provide some experiences and tips.
Start by preparing the Patient for intraoral intervention, do not start working with a vibrator. Start with the included sponge spatulas, then proceed to massage the tongue with the PROBE speech therapy spatula - from the top. In case of problems with the facade: Use the PROBE spatula - massage from the top of the tongue, use the PREEFER yellow spatula to massage from the bottom of the frenulum to the top and sides of the tongue, use the FINE spatula at the end - you can use it to remove it with the cheerios tongue! Finally, use LIFTER to passively raise your tongue to the roof of your mouth. Remember - the contact of the tongue with the palate is not only used to evoke the R sound, it is necessary in feeding and swallowing and has a psychological "support". REREK is a high-amplitude vibrator, which means that the vibrations triggered under the tongue will allow enough "tug" of the tongue to evoke the sound R. This can be done using a suitable spatula. We use flat spatulas for small children or for "tall" unstable jaws, the shoulder blades require a wider opening. When the Patient responds better to granularity - use a textured spatula.
